Re: Regulating maritime safety and security
standards, to be effective from 6/10/2026
For your information, please note the following:
1. A transit permit is required for all vessels of year of built date goes back
25 years or more, and they must be subjected to a comprehensive
inspection and trials, with fees paid in advance, before transit.
2. Vessels that have been inspected and tested as stated in item (1) above are
exempted from repeating the inspections and trials if they transit again
within six months of the date of their last inspection, provided that no
defects, malfunctions, or technical remarks are discovered or
recorded during that period.
Please take the necessary action to circulate these instructions widely to
agencies and shipping companies.
